Govt prepares draft note for de-regulation of petrol and diesel prices

There is a possibility that the new government at the centre in New Delhi may lift controls on automotive fuels like petrol and diesel prices, in spite of maintaining its stance on regulating kerosene and cooking gas prices. There are media reports that the petroleum ministry has prepared a draft cabinet note on freeing petrol and diesel prices from the government control, after which they will be linked to international movements.
