GM launches Chevrolet Spark in LPG version

To coincide with the World Environment Day, General Motors India launched the LPG version of its best selling model, Chevrolet Spark. The environment- friendly LPG model features premium beige interiors with a Certified Factory Fitted Next Generation Sequential Injection-type LPG kit, latest in terms of technology which is far superior to the venture-type LPG kit available in the market today. The beige interiors with other existing features and amenities make the award-winning small car more sporty and stylish. The engine can run on petrol in the absence of LPG.

Mitsubishi unveils new-gen electric vehicle i-MiEV in the market

Mitsubishi Motors on World Environment Day has unveiled the production version of the i-MiEV new-generation electric vehicle (EV), describing it as 'the pioneer that will open the door to the next 100 years of our automobile society.' The i-MiEV will go on sale on the Japanese market in late July of this year.

Toyota to lease 200 plug-in hybrid vehicles in Japan

Toyota Motor has announced that it will lease plug-in hybrid vehicles in Japan in collaboration with local governments selected under the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's EV & PHV Towns program1, which aims to promote the widespread use of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

CEAT to flag off the first leg of CEAT-PRO Knowledge Series

Mann+Hummel India sets up R&D unit in Bangalore

German auto filtration equipment manufacturer, Mann Hummel, has established a state-of-the-art engineering and R&D Centre in Peenya, Bangalore and will also be building its second unit in the Nalagarh Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Himachal Pradesh in joint venture with Bosch with an investment of about Rs. 112 crore to manufacture a range of filter systems using plastics for automotive and industrial applications by September 2009.
