Kapil Kapoor gets BMW 320i for winning the hole-in-one challenge

Kapil Kapoor has won the BMW hole-in-one challenge at the DLF Golf and Country Club, Gurgaon, where he scored the hole-in-one recently on April 11, 2009. As a winner he was presented with a BMW 320i valued at Rs 26,90,000 (ex-showroom)
Interestingly, golf enthusiasts in Delhi and NCR can win the hole-in-one challenge at the 8th hole of the DLF Golf and Country Club, Gurgaon every Saturday up to 3 pm until the end of June 2009 and drive home in the new BMW 3 Series.

Mazda rolls out all-new Axela in Japan

Mazda Motor Corporation has announced the sales launch of its all-new Mazda Axela (known overseas as the new Mazda3) in the Japanese market. Mazda’s mainstay model has been fully redesigned and updated with a host of new features, including the ‘i-stop’ engine stop/start system. Sales commence today at all Mazda, Mazda Anfini and Autozam dealers nationwide. Manufacturers’ suggested retail prices (including sales tax) for the all-new Mazda Axela range from 1,660,000 to 2,678,000 yen. The target sales volume in the Japanese market is 2,000 units per month.

Skoda Laura records fastest and most fuel-efficient drive on Golden Quadrilateral

Škoda Auto's New Laura TDI PD (A) L&K (diesel) driven by a team of 6 professional drivers in a non-stop full loop around the entire Golden Quadrilateral (Delhi-Kolkata-Chennai-Mumbai-Delhi) covering a distance of 5941 km created a record of completing it in 75 hours and 32 minutes, recording an average speed of 79 km an hour. The New Laura took only 584.46 litres of diesel to cover the distance and averaged fuel-efficiency of 10.26 kms/p/litre. The D-segment car encountered different terrains of the great Golden Quadrilateral - patches of bad roads, traffic jams and the occasional showers ensuring a drive in real road conditions. The car used for this drive did not undergo any modifications.
