At this year’s Salon International de L’Automobile in Geneva on March 2nd, Hyundai will unveil an all-new concept car which pioneers a new look for a D-segment sedan. A sketch revealed today gives a first glimpse of the concept car – named i-flow – which will make its world premiere at next month’s show.Styled at the company’s European design headquarters in Russelsheim, Germany, i-flow is expected to attract much attention, thanks to its striking appearance – the latest product of the company’s evocative new form language, ‘fluidic sculpture’. Test Drive : Fiat Grande Punto - A Showstopper
Three years ago, Tata Motors joined hands with Fiat India in what was seen as a move akin to offering the seemingly-drowning Italian firm a straw to clutch and save itself. The deal in a nutshell was that in exchange for access to Fiat technology and the Ranjangaon manufacturing facilities, Fiat India would have access to the Tata Motors service marketing and servicing network. Which meant that both Tata and Fiat passenger cars would be sold jointly from each other’s showrooms as is the case today. While Tata Motors launched its new Fiat engined Indica Vista not so recently, Fiat India was seen to be soldiering on with an ageing range. Not any more though, because with the launch of the Linea first and now the Grande Punto, though ideally it should have been the other way round as the Grande Punto was born first, Fiat India is fighting back.

Even though premium carmakers, rolling out high-end and niche cars, continued to do brisk sales in the Indian market for the past few months, the global recession and other factors have began take its toll on them. But since January 09, banks and other financial institutions have begun reducing the car loan disbursals to even high-profile customers, thereby hampering the sales of the automobile companies. While Mercedes Benz saw its sales plunging by The 34.18 per cent in May 2009, BMW's sales dropped by 22.48 per cent in the same month.
