Since the 2009 Detroit Auto Show was lukewarm this year, the biennial auto show international in India - Auto Expo - could also be feeling the effects of meltdown when it comes once again in 2010. Not because this time there is no Tata Nano, but because The Hindustan Times claims that a bevy of factors like recession, spike in rent at Pragati Maidan (the venue), and slowdown in sales may hamper the number of footfalls at the upcoming auto show next year. HT claims that the rental charged by the ITPO last year was in the range of Rs. 4,800-4,900 per square metre, but now it is charging nearly Rs. 5,900 per square metre.
